Styling our World-Changing Ambassadors: An Interview with Lauren LeFevre
With the launch of a new Noonday line comes a brand new Lookbook — and fall is no exception. If you haven’t seen this beauty yet, be sure and check it out. Our creative team puts so much into dreaming up, creating and producing this labor of love.
One thing we consistently do in each Lookbook, besides displaying beautiful jewelry and sharing the stories behind them, is highlighting Noonday Ambassadors across the country. From their stories, successes and connections, we love highlighting these women any way we can.
For this Lookbook, we dreamed up something extra special – a photoshoot with Ambassadors right here in our hometown of Austin, Texas. In the past we’ve gathered photos from the featured Ambassadors, but we’ve never had them all together at once. And who doesn’t love a photo shoot?
And since our Ambassadors are some of the most world-changing and stylish women we know, we couldn’t let these ladies look anything less than what they are. So we called in stylist extraordinaire, Lauren LeFevre. This lady is no stranger to Noonday; in fact, she attended a Noonday Trunk Show shortly after we launched in 2010. You’ve probably also seen lots of photos of Lauren on Noonday’s Instagram feed as we’re always big fans of how she rocks her Noonday jewels.
Thanks for joining us Lauren! We’d love for you to tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a wife, mother to 4-year-old twins, wardrobe stylist and fashion blogger. I’m southern born and raised and a proud University of Georgia Bulldawg! I am back living in my hometown of Atlanta after a two-year move to Austin, my other favorite city. I am passionate about people, and helping women see the unique beauty and dignity in which God has designed them. Besides fashion and spending time with my family, I love working out, gardening, home design, traveling and entertaining. Because I am a sucker for challenges, I ran my first “Tough Mudder” race this year to help raise money for foster families.
We loved seeing you rock your first Tough Mudder this Spring. Maybe next year we’ll join you! So tell us, when did you become interested in fashion?
My love for fashion started at a very early age. My mom tells me I had strong opinions about what I wore starting at two, and was known as the “accessory queen” by my friends growing up.
How did your love for fashion lead you to becoming a stylist?
My affinity for style and fashion quickly translated into helping friends and family with their wardrobes at a young age. During high school, some of the women I babysat for began asking me to shop with them and help style them for events. At that point, I could only dream of making a career out of what I loved to do!
And it does feel like a dream come true that I was able to launch a company out of a passion. A few years after graduating from business school, I started Edit by Lauren Wardrobe Styling in Atlanta. Over the past eight years, Edit has expanded to Austin and Nashville and we are currently in the process of expanding nationally and launching some other exciting facets to the business in the coming year.
We can’t wait to see what else you and your team have in store! With a title like “Accessory Queen” we certainly can’t let you get away without asking you what your favorite Noonday pieces are.
Tell us more about your experience styling the Ambassador Shoot earlier this year.
One of my favorite things about styling is working with “real” women, making them feel fabulous in their own skin and helping push them a little outside their normal fashion comfort-zones. So this shoot was right up my alley in that I got to style and dress beautiful, passionate Noonday Ambassadors from around the country, make them feel special and push some of them just a bit into trying something new. These women were SO delightful, encouraging and inspiring to be around. Plus, an added bonus was styling them in lots of Anthropologie clothes, which happens to be one of my very favorite stores in the world.
Well it’s safe to say that everyone looked and felt amazing in their outfit that day. It was such a fun time together. What is inspiring you lately?
I’m in a place of feeling very challenged to live a life of meaning and purpose, and to find my unique role and voice in the fashion industry. It’s a challenge to juggle being a wife and mother of two with growing a company that I am passionate about and to attempt to find “balance” in all of that! I’m inspired right now by other women carving similar paths, one being Noonday’s Founder, Jessica Honegger. One of the highlights of my trip to Austin to style this shoot was getting time with her and learning from her journey as a mission-minded entrepreneur.
Love that and so glad you got to spend time with Jessica and some Noonday Ambassadors, who are entrepreneurs as well. With all of your accomplishments, what are you most proud of?
My family! My greatest accomplishment are my two children. It was a difficult journey becoming a mother and they are, without question, my biggest blessing and joy. And besides my family, I am very humbled and amazed by the beauty and blessing that has come out of a lot of personal challenges and obstacles the past few years. One day I want to write a book about the “rest of the story” most people don’t know and how God’s grace has carried me each step of this journey in my marriage, motherhood and business.
We can’t wait to read that book! Thank you so much for styling our Ambassadors for the Fall Lookbook and for sharing a piece of your story with us, Lauren. Be sure and check out Lauren’s styling work and read the stories of our world-changing Ambassadors in our current Fall Lookbook.
