Job Title: Production Manager
- How did you come to be at Noonday’s Partner Business?
My cousin introduced me to the organization.
- Where are you from? How many hours by train from headquarters?
My hometown is 11 hours from our headquarters city by bullet train.
- What are your job responsibilities at the Artisan Business?
I am our Production Manager. I supervise all aspects of production and make sure that orders are completed on time. I manage the 20 people who work in production between the branch in our Headquarters city and our other branch. I like preparing the purchase orders that come through. I love achieving our goal of making high quality products that get to our customers on time.
- What is one thing you liked about living in the shelter?
I lived at the shelter for the first four years I worked here. I then moved out and rented an apartment with another coworker. I loved living at the shelter. I love that someone was always available to listen to you, pray with you, and give you advice when you needed it.
- Which steps of vocational training have you completed?
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Accounting software training from our Finance Director Helen
- 4-month design course
- Attended a one-week leadership development training course in Hong Kong.
- How have you changed since you arrived at the Artisan Business? How did that moment change you?
I have grown in confidence since coming here. Before I was very timid and scared to do new things. Now I am brave and do things even if I am scared. I am confident in myself and my leadership abilities.
- What moment at the Artisan Business is the significant to you, and why?
My first business trip to the southern part of our country to visit a sister organization was a significant moment for me. I was in meetings with the leadership team from the other company and our leaders. It was the first time I truly felt like a leader. It was amazing to have people outside of the workshop respect my opinion and listen to my advice.
When I am able to attend training courses outside of the workshop, those courses are always incredibly significant for me. The company believes in me enough to fund my study. These courses also changed my perspective and allow me to grow as a person. These training courses are great for my personal and professional development.
My first business trip to another branch was a big moment for me. I was able to take some of my managers from our Headquarters branch to help train leaders at the other branch. I like being able to help people grow in their leadership ability.
- What is your happiest memory here?
When I had been working here a few years, we received a massive order for 60,000 pairs of earrings. We worked so incredibly hard to get the order fulfilled on time. This was the biggest single order in the business’ history. To celebrate our major accomplishment, we went on a team-building trip to a beautiful place. I loved having fun with my coworkers and seeing the stunning landscape. We were all so proud of our accomplishment and I loved having achieved such a difficult goal.
- What would you like our customers to know about you or the company?
Our jewelry is beautiful. Thank you for purchasing our pieces. We like working here in the workshop.
