Shine is on the Horizon! An Interview with Jamie Ivey
After two busy and festive months of celebrating, January can often leave us feeling the post-holiday blues. Luckily, here at Noonday we have something extra special to look forward to.
Every January, Noonday Ambassadors from across the country gather together for Shine.
Shine is Noonday’s you-don’t-want-to-miss-this annual conference, for Ambassadors only! It’s an incredible weekend full of inspiring speakers and interactive workshops to empower Ambassadors in their Noonday businesses. It’s also a chance to meet artisan entrepreneurs from across the globe and connect to our world-changing Ambassador community. Plus, we give Ambassadors an exclusive opportunity to see the Spring 2016 line first!
There is nothing like gathering together as a community to get equipped, to encourage one another and have way too much fun along the way.
This year we have an amazing line up of speakers from Glennon Melton from one of our favorite blogs, Momastery, Jen Hatmaker, who we’ve dubbed Noonday’s #1 Cheerleader and a return favorite, Melissa Russell from International Justice Mission and more.
We are also thrilled to welcome back Jamie Ivey as our conference emcee. I had the chance to sit down with Jamie and hear all about her experience last year and what’s she’s excited about for this year’s Shine.
Jamie, we can’t wait to have you with us again this year. We’d love to hear what you loved about Shine last year?
Shine was one of my very favorite events last year. I love Jessica therefore I have always loved Noonday. Last year though, I fell in love with Noonday all over again because of Noonday, not just because I’m friends with your founder. It was really special for me to hear the drive and passion behind how and why Noonday does what it does. From the way you operate your business to your Ambassadors, it helped me become even more supportive of the business.
I love that you fell in love with Noonday in a new way. Shine is certainly a great look at our business as a whole and how we are committed to building a flourishing world. Tell me what was it like for you to be a part of it all not being an Ambassador?
That’s what made the whole experience so great. Shine isn’t just “a conference” and it’s not just about how to sell more jewelry. Not being a Noonday Ambassador I still gained so much from being there. I loved hearing from Melissa [Russell] from IJM, her talk was powerful for my own life. I love how you equip your community to love people better and to tap into the passion and reason behind why they are a Noonday Ambassador. That resonates with me as well.
One of my favorite moments last year, was when you spontaneously decided to interview Daniel in a packed room full of Ambassadors. It was such a special moment. What was that experience like for you?
I was honored to be able to interview Daniel and his wife Jalia. I remember hearing the beginnings of Noonday from Jessica and Jalia and Daniel were the first artisans that Noonday began purchasing jewelry from so it was special to hear their story. Not only that, I was able to interview Daniel, who had both been impacted and has himself impacted in some way every woman sitting in that room. It was an honor to have him share his story, to be able to listen to him share his story with his wife and to see that we all share the same goals. It really brought Noonday full circle for me.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
So, tell me what are you most excited about for this year’s conference?
Besides feeling like I have the “upper hand” in seeing all the new Spring jewelry of course, I’m excited about the speakers. I can’t wait to hear from Glennon [Melton], Melissa [Russell] and Jennie [Allen]. I always leave feeling more confident and empowered.
And meeting Ambassadors is the best. It’s been fun to see some of my Happy Hour listeners tell me they’re also Noonday Ambassadors throughout the year via social media. I have this connection with them because we both love Noonday and getting to then meet them in person is great too.
Thanks so much for sharing with us Jamie! We are excited to have you join us again this year.
And if the social media inside scoop just isn’t enough for you (we can’t blame you), join our community and become a Noonday Ambassador and you can join us in person for Shine 2017. Learn more here.
